Inception
1987, India. The country was slowly but steadily awakening to new and challenging business avenues. The times, as they say, were a-changing. But a crucial spoke in the wheels of the upcoming juggernaut of global growth was missing - large-scale courier services were practically non-existent in India.
On November 1, 1987, a group of 8 young people seized the opportunity to create a reliable, cost-effective national (and soon international) courier service agency. They set up The Professional Couriers - a pioneering courier service company built on the principles of ethics, reliability and serving, to the best of its abilities, two crucial audiences - customers and employees.
TPC Growth Timeline
In 1999, TPC launched its International Subsidiary Company - M/s The Professional International Couriers Pvt. Ltd., simultaneously opening its International Hub in four metros - Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai. It also set up Business Associates in Dubai and Singapore, paving the way for providing services in 195 countries.
2007 was a period of growth. The group founded The Professional Couriers Network Ltd. (PCNL) to secure operations in North, Central and East India. Our network of franchisees was strengthened while growing our own offices and hubs. Now, every nook and corner of the country was within our reach.
In 2009, a landmark year, we expanded our international base via The Professional Couriers USA Inc., New York/USA, Professional Couriers LLC., Dubai/UAE and Professional Couriers Pte Ltd., Singapore.
To facilitate our CSR programmes, in 2009 we also formed The Professional Couriers Charitable Trust (Regd), with its Head Office in Mumbai.
What started as a shared dream of 8 directors is today a premier logistics company in the country with global reach and thousands of highly motivated employees.
